Olwyn is Locks’ own Glinda the Good Witch of the North. ‘Olly’, as we all know her, crafts classically beautiful hair, with a combination of traditional sculpted finishes and contemporary techniques .. all softly dusted with her gentle personality. She is our principal Event Stylist for weddings, formals or any special celebrations.
Olly completed her apprenticeship at Locks Hair in the late nineties, has since run her own successful salon in Kiama, has freelanced as a Wedding and Make-up specialist, and has how now come full-circle to share her expertise with our team and our guests.
While not at the salon, or mothering her two daughters, Olly leads a very active lifestyle, running in charitable fun-runs and competing in grueling half-marathons. Go Olly, Go!
Benny Gripton
Manager
Benny is Locks Hair Owner and Manager. He believes that the salon and its clients should have an ongoing relationship of trust.
He has been part of the business for 18 years after working in retail sales and software. He leads the stylist team by promoting a strong service culture and by developing their skills and talents.His role is to ensure that clients have left Locks Hair with a beautiful result they can maintain. He makes sure they have had a wonderful five-star experience.
Benny loves travelling with his wife and two sons and enjoys reading, rock music and role-playing games.
Wayne Becker
Advanced Stylist
Wayne is a versatile stylist who specialises in precision cutting for both men and women—providing contemporary, classical and short cuts. He is a magician particularly with Great Lengths bonded hair extensions. He is our in-salon Kevin Murphy consultant.
Wayne is absolutely committed to a high standard of service whether it’s a fringe-trim or a full-extension service. He values loyalty, trust and respect in his relationships with clients. He has been at Locks Hair since 2008.
Wayne grew up on Canvey Island in Essex, UK, and trained in London. He came to Australia in 2006 and became a citizen in 2012. He likes to try everything once and explore what the world and its people have to offer.
Hannah Holloway
Advanced Stylist
Hannah is a versatile stylist who has a penchant for the big, beautiful, bouncy blow-waves. She is our go-to-person for those that want a less textured style by using Keratin smoothing. She also provides the colouring expertise as our Pureology Ambassador, and has achieved international accreditation as a Redken Certified Hair Colourist.
Hannah is the big smile in the salon and our curl connoisseur. With her own naturally curly hair she loves to help our curly-haired and long-haired clients to achieve great style.
Hannah is a Balmain local. Our local clients have recognised her famous friendly smile from before she started caring for the community’s hair needs over ten years ago.Hannah loves attending dress-up parties and themed-events.
Kerryn Southin
Artistic Director / Stylist
Kerryn is an accomplished stylist specialising in fashion-forward, creative colour, including balayage, ombré and colour correction as well as Keratin smoothing treatments. Kerryn has also achieved international accreditation as a Redken Certified Hair Colourist.
She is the salon’s adventurer. She loves learning new techniques and sharing them with like-minded clients. Her clients look and feel their best with an exciting yet practical style that they can maintain easily themselves.
Kerryn has been studying hairdressing since she was 16. She did a school-based apprenticeship as part of her HSC. Kerryn likes extreme adventure sports and has gone sky-diving and shark-diving. Otherwise she can be found at quiet meals and noisy music festivals.
